Dr. Brusic joined University of Nottingham in 2018 as a Li Dak Sum Chair Professor in Computer Science. He studied at University of Belgrade (Serbia), La Trobe University (Australia), Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (Australia), and Rutgers University (USA).

His research expertise is interdisciplinary: bioinformatics, health informatics, mathematical modelling, predictive analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning. He is interested in complex systems analysis and development of knowledge-based systems. He developed new software solutions used for scientific discovery and optimization problems in medical diagnosis and monitoring of human health. He developed a novel diagnostic product for tissue typing (patent US 8969254 B2) and used knowledge-based systems to discover targets for vaccine optimization (patent US 9205144 B2).

Prof. Ruibin Bai holds BSc and MSc degrees from Northwestern Polytechnic University, China and a PhD from University of Nottingham, UK. He joined the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) in 2007 after spending 2 years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Nottingham, UK.

He is now a professor in the School of Computer Science and an IEEE senior member. During his time at UNNC, he has been awarded 3 NSFC (National Natural Science Foundation of China) grants, 3 from Zhejiang Province (including an “Outstanding Young Scientist Grant”) and 4 from Ningbo Sci&Tech Bureau as the principal investigator, with total fund of over RMB 5m (approximately GBP550K). His current research interests include computational intelligence, machine learning, operations research, modelling, scheduling and optimisation with a special focus on transportation systems and healthcare.

Dr. Wei Huang is an associate professor in finance and accounting and head of department of finance accounting and economics at Nottingham University Business School China. He has a BSc degree in mathematics from Nanjing Normal University, an MSc degree in financial management with distinction from the University of Exeter, and a PhD in finance from the University of Bristol. He is also a holder of the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and CPA (Australia) designations, and has extensive experience in consultancy, corporate trainings, and executive education. Prior to joining Nottingham Ningbo in 2007 as assistant professor in finance, he worked in the University of Bristol as teaching fellow in accounting and finance (2003 – 2006) and Northumbria University as senior lecturer in finance (2006 – 2007). Wei has been consistently ranked among the best teachers in Nottingham University Business School China according to the Student Evaluations of Teaching (SET) surveys.

Wei is currently the China area editor of Research in International Business and Finance (ABS2/ABDC-B/SSCI) and associate editor of International Review of Financial Analysis (ABS3/ABDC-A/SSCI), International Review of Economics and Finance (ABS2/ABDC-A/SSCI), Finance Research Letters (ABS2/ABDC-B/SSCI). His research lies in the areas of corporate finance, financial reporting, and finance and innovation. He has a particular interest in the Chinese markets and firms and has supervised a number of PhD students to completion. Over a dozen of Wei’s papers, including several single-authored ones, have appeared in ABS-3/ABDC-A ranked finance/accounting/economics journals.

He is interested in the area of numerical and experimental study of light weight mechanical system and new materials, e.g. deployable actuators, thin composites, including advanced space structures as well as design and analysis of infrastructure, e.g. portal frame and web crippling.

Dr. Chaoyan Wang is Assistant Professor at School of Economics, prior her joining University of Nottingham Ningbo China in 2016, she worked in University of Nottingham (UK) and University of York (UK). Her research area covers market microstructure, asset pricing, quantitative finance, and China’s economy and capital markets. She has completed one NSFC funded project about application of machine learning on financial risk analysis (Grant No. 61503422), and is currently working on a NSFC funded project about the norms of science with Chinese characteristics (Grant No. 71774091), as well as several horizontal projects, including small business financing funded by PBC, transaction cost analysis collaborated with big financial institutions. She has publications on finance journals and AI journals.

Dr. Jianfeng Ren received the B.Eng. Degree from the National University of Singapore in 2001, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), in 2009 and 2015, respectively. In December 2007, he joined NTU as a Project Officer, responsible for the development of the face verification system on mobile devices. In September 2011, he joined the Being ThereCentre, Institute of Media Innovation, NTU, as a Research Associate. In 2015-2018, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NTU. Currently, he is an assistant professor in the School of Computer Science in University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Since 2009, he has authored or coauthored 10 journal papers and 10 conference papers, including two TIP papers, three PR papers, three SPL papers, and one TMM paper. His research interests include face recognition, image/video processing, statistical pattern recognition, deep learning, human-computer interaction and radar target recognition.

Dr. Anthony Bellotti is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing at University of Nottingham Ningbo, China. He received his PhD of machine learning from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2006 and was a Research Fellow in the Credit Research Centre at the University of Edinburgh from 2007 to 2010. He was a senior lecturer at Imperial College London until 2019 where he taught quantitative methods in retail finance.

His main areas of research are in machine learning and credit risk modelling, with interest in model risk, dynamic survival models and expected loss estimation. He has published extensively in these areas in good quality international refereed journals with 18 published papers over 10 years.

Professor Lenny Koh, BEng (Hons), PhD, FRSA, is a Chair Professor in Operations Management, Founders and Director of the Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM) Research Centre at the Management School & the Faculty’s Centre for Energy, Environment and Sustainability (CEES), at The University of Sheffield, UK. She is also the co-founder of Supply Chain Management and Information Systems (SCMIS) Consortium, a global network of leading academic and practitioners driving research and knowledge exchange on supply chain and information systems, A World leading mind recognized amongst FRSs and Nobel Laureates.

Within the University, Professor Koh is a Senior Chair Professor, an internationally renowned and established authority in supply chain specifically on low carbon and sustainability with a high H-index (World number 2) and high research income generation in her discipline internationally. Dr. Pushpendu Kar is an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (China campus of the University of Nottingham UK). He has acted as editor-in-chief of International Journal of Intelligent Engineering Informatics, managing editor of International Journal of Computational Science as well as the editorial members of several international journals. So far, he has published four monographs (two monographs have been published by Springer-Verlag) and over 60 SCI/SSCI articles in some top journals including IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation and IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering. Dr. Zhang Bohui is the presidential chair professor of finance at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, the associate director of Shenzhen Finance Institute and the director of the Center for FinTech and Social Finance.

He is also the professor of finance at UNSW Business School, UNSW Sydney, and the associate director of the Institute of Global Finance (IGF). In 2008, Professor Zhang graduated from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore with doctorate in Finance. He received master's degree in economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2004 and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Engineering Mechanics at Tsinghua University in 2003.

Professor Zhang has conducted research in various fields, including FinTech, the media, China's capital market and international capital markets. Xiaofeng Zhang received the M.Sc. degree from the Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen, China, in 1999, and Ph.D. degree from Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong, in 2008. He was with the Research and Development Center, Peking University Founder Group, Beijing, China, and the E-business Technology Institute, Hong Kong University, Hong Kong.

He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Computer Science, Shenzhen Graduate School, Harbin Institute of Technology. His research interests include data mining, machine learning, and graph mining.

Dr. Ying Jiang is Associate Professor in Finance. She has a BA in Economics from Jilin University, China; an MSc in International Finance and a PhD in Finance from the University of Essex, UK. Before pursuing an academic career, Ying worked for a health product company in Israel, South Africa, Nigeria and China.

Her main research interests lie in the fields of empirical asset pricing and applied time series econometrics. In particular, she is interested in stock return predictability, return-based trading strategies, volatility modelling and forecasting in financial markets. She publishes on leading journals such as Journal of International Money and Finance, European Journal of Finance, International Journal of Forecasting and so on. Ying is currently the associate editor of Research in International Business and Finance. She has obtained several research funding including two grants from the Ministry of Education of China.

Xiaoquan Liu a Professor in Finance. Prior to joining the University of Nottingham Ningbo in September 2014, she was Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in Finance with Essex Business School, University of Essex, UK. Xiaoquan has also held visiting positions in the Stephen M. Ross School of Business of the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and the Department of Finance and Statistics of the University of Science and Technology of China. Her research is mainly in the areas of asset pricing, derivatives, and applied financial econometrics. She has published a number of articles in leading international journals, including the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, the Journal of Banking and Finance, and the European Journal of Operational Research. She has taught a range of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include asset pricing, derivative securities, risk management, financial intermediaries, and quantitative methods. Xiaoquan has also supervised a number of PhD students to completion in the broad areas of option pricing, financial engineering, and credit risk modeling.
